Technology Licensing Manager/Officer
Manages the process of licensing technologies, negotiates agreements with companies, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Senior Licensing Specialist: Focuses on high-value or complex licensing deals and provides mentorship to junior staff. Patent Portfolio Manager: Manages the institution’s patent portfolio, including filing, prosecution, and maintenance.
IP Attorney/Legal Counsel
Provides legal support for IP-related matters, including patent filings, trademark registrations, and contract negotiations. Patent Agent: Works closely with researchers to draft and file patent applications. IP Analyst: Conducts prior art searches, assesses patentability, and supports the IP portfolio management.
Business Development Manager
Identifies and cultivates relationships with potential licensees, startups, and investors. Commercialization Analyst: Evaluates technologies for market potential, performs market research, and helps in developing commercialization strategies. Startup/Incubation Manager: Supports the creation and growth of startups that are based on the center’s technologies.
Technology Assessment Specialist
Reviews and evaluates the technical feasibility of inventions and research outcomes. Innovation/Research Analyst: Works closely with researchers to identify innovative technologies and assess their commercial potential.
Finance Manager/Officer
Manages the financial aspects of the center, including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue distribution from licensing deals. Grant Administrator: Manages grants and funding opportunities related to technology transfer. Administrative Assistant/Coordinator: Provides administrative support, including scheduling, documentation, and communication.
Marketing Manager
Develops and executes marketing strategies to promote the center’s technologies and services. Communications Specialist: Manages internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media.
Training and Outreach Coordinator
Develops and coordinates training programs for researchers on IP, commercialization, and entrepreneurship. Industry Liaison: Builds and maintains relationships with industry partners, facilitating collaborations and partnerships.
IT Manager/Support Specialist
Oversees the center’s IT infrastructure, including databases, websites, and communication tools. Data Analyst: Manages data related to technology transfer activities, including performance metrics and reporting.
